I'm opening up church on Thursday for anyone who wants to come in and spend some time in prayer re the case of Henry Nowak, his murder and the regrettable aspects of his arrest. I won't go into that matter here, but clearly this is a case which is hitting people very hard and very deep, and I feel it too. I wrote a long post on it, but I don't want to start a debate, except to say, there is much we need to learn, to pray for the Nowak family at this time, and to keep calm heads as we earnestly seek to learn lessons from this awful event. All are welcome.

So I'm going to open Holy Trinity church from 10am on Thursday till 1pm, for quiet reflection, and a chat if you need one.

The church is a lovely venue and a great atmosphere for a wonderful way to let your hair down after a long week.

A week on Sunday is our Remembering Loved Ones service. A moment for the whole parish to gather to remember those gone on before us.

If you would like a loved one's name reading out, please let us know as per the email on the poster, but you're welcome to just come along and join us in thanking God for those who we've loved and will always love, though they be gone from us.

Just so everyone knows, church is open on Friday night from 7-9 and on Saturday from 11-2.30. This is not a protest or a counter protest, nor is it taking a side (there's a huge range of opinion on this issue within church let alone in the parish more widely) but it is saying that prayer and asking God into a situation is a good idea, every time.

You're all welcome to come and find some peace and pray, or just sit in the quiet.
