Moving forward as a group it’s good that we have a Statement/Confession of Faith.
This is what we believe.
A CONFESSION OF FAITH
I believe in one God who has revealed Himself in the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Co-equal in power, character, nature and purpose, not three gods but One God, Holy, omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient.
I believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God. It is the complete revelation of God and contains all that humanity needs to understand what God requires of us and what He has done to provide salvation for a sinful and rebellious people.
I believe that Jesus Christ is the promised Jewish Messiah and Saviour of the world, the one and only Unique Son of God. Born of the Virgin Mary, having lived a sinless life He offered himself as the promised ransom sacrifice to atone for the sins of the world. He was rejected by the Jews and abandoned by his followers, He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was scourged and crucified and killed on our behalf to satisfy God’s anger against the sin of mankind.
I believe that on the Third Day Jesus Christ came bodily back to life.
Served His disciples then ascended to be at the right hand of The Father in heaven.
I believe that everyone who truly believes that Jesus Christ has paid for, and repents of, their sins and believes in the resurrection, and makes a confession of this, is forgiven and accepted by God the Father as a child of God.
I believe that we can do nothing to save ourselves, we can not add to the complete salvation provided by the life, death and resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ. “We are Saved by Grace and not of works, lest any man should boast.” Being fully justified and made righteous in the sight of God by the substitutional death of Jesus Christ for us as individuals. JUST AS IF I’D NEVER SINNED.
I believe that the Church of Christ is the institution ordained of God to fulfil His purpose regarding the spreading of the Good News to all mankind. The Church of Christ is not a building or religious denomination but made up of people who have entered into a living relationship with God based on a genuine repentance of their sins and not reliant upon a religious observance.
I believe that Jesus Christ will return bodily to this world to establish a righteous world government, then the lion will lie down with the lamb and swords shall be beaten into plough shears.
I believe that Jesus will judge the living and the dead and that we must all stand before Him to receive judgement for how we have lived our lives. I believe in the resurrection of the dead, some to life everlasting and some to eternal damnation.
I believe that Jesus’ last command, “to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations,” is given to all believers and is part of the responsibility that all Christians share.
I believe that it is incumbent of Christians that they should be in a church, should read their Bibles, be prayerful and discover how they may be of service to the Living God. It is not only the responsibility of the Pastor/Vicar to build the church.
I believe that God loves the world so much that He sent His only Son, so that anyone who believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.
I believe that God the Father offers a personal invitation to everyone to enter into a living relationship with Him to discover the true meaning of life and enjoy the Peace of God.
