How I praise Thee, precious Savior,

Saw this today and thought I would share:

While he had been a follower of Jesus for many years, in May 1738 at a meeting in Aldersgate Street, London, John Wesley had a new experience of God’s love. He described this experience in his journal saying, “I felt my heart strangely warmed”. Wesley welcomed the ongoing work of the Spirit in the world, the church and in the life of Christians.

Eph 6:15 The daily application of the Gospel (the good news about God, his kingdom and Jesus) to our lives equips us to stand firm against the enemies schemes. It's like putting on a well fitting and properly secured pair of military grade combat boots! Through his wonderful grace and provision God is able to make us stand. Glory to his name.

A prayer for Godly shepherds.

The tasks of the godly shepherd, Zech 11:16.

This verse speaks of the behaviour of a 'worthless shepherd'. By reversing the actions of the worthless shepherd we see how a good shepherd should care for the sheep in their charge. For 'shepherd' read pastor/elder.

Godly shepherds will –

Care for the perishing

Seek the wandering

Heal the maimed

Nourish the healthy

Loving Heavenly Father raise up Christlike shepherds who will care for your flock and end the suffering which the lack of God appointed/anointed shepherds brings to your people, (Zech 10:2b). For those who are good shepherds encourage and build them up in their calling. For those called but not active release them as gifts to the flock which is your Church. In Jesus name and for your glory Father. Amen
