And so this part of the journey comes to an end and the next part begins - a time of rest, reflection and discernment.
There is much to be thankful for - the richness and diversity of our Diocese, the generosity of all those who have supported the journey with hospitality, donations to the fund for Sussex Historic Churches Trust and by giving their time and talents behind the scenes (shout out to the Diocesian Comms team who have been backing Marcus every mile of his journey).
Above all, we are grateful for the safe arrival of our pilgrim at the 2 churches he serves - Midhurst Parish Church and All Hallows Woolbeding.

Today started off in the rain but the sun soon came out.
It was another day of discovery of how so many Christians have glorified the house of God with artwork - from the humble but heartfelt to the utterly magnificient.
The ancient murals in St Mary's in Coombes is a visceral expression of faith, whilst the beautiful window in St Andrew's Ferring lends itself to reflection and contemplation.

A tough day on the bike today - lots of traffic, silly sausages on the road galore.

At woodland campsite generously given by the owner of the Shermanbury estate - and listening to the rustling of lots of God’s creatures around me….

And so the journey has passed its halfway point and there is much to be thankful for – the hospitality shown to the pilgrim, his safe journey and the rich and varied character of our Diocese.
Today’s theme has been harder to discern, but the prominence of some of the War Memorial tableaus and beautiful and ornate stained glass has been notable.
