St Martin's Middlesbrough

Last Thursday Chris & Sam went to the Mustard Seed, Diocese of York celebration in York Minister. It was great to look back on all that has happened through Mustard Seed since Chris took part in the first ever Stepping Up group in Middlesbrough. We're so pleased to have Chris as a Community Minister at St Martin's, and we look forward to seeing how Mustard Seed grows and develops in the coming years.

On Sunday evening Sam was part of the Transforming Teesside Together Leaders' Summit. It was a great opportunity to gather with leaders from a wide variety of churches from across Teesside. We were also joined by Middlesbrough Mayor Chris Cooke, who encouraged us to focus on work with young people across the region.

We celebrated what God is doing in Teesside, particularly the new churches that are being planted and the Christians who have moved to the area from around the world in recent years to reinvigorate the Teesside Church.

We prayed for our region and were encouraged that we are one team; one church across Teesside, called to work together to see God's Kingdom come here on earth as in heaven.

What does a Bible Conversation group look like at St Martin’s?

It’s a small group of friendly people sitting round with a cuppa and a biscuit reading the bible together and talking about what they think it means.

Our day time groups have just started, but it’s not too late to join in, and we’re planning to run evening sessions too so let us know what would work best for you. We’d love you to join us.
