Sitting still and undistracted can be really difficult. We can build up the practice slowly, 5, 10, 15 minutes at a time. St John Vianney suggests closing our eyes and opening hearts.

Our Lady and St Benedict’s Church, Ampleforth are having 40 Hour of Eucharistic Adoration starting tomorrow, Friday 4th September.
It starts with Mass at 5pm on Friday and it ends with Mass on Sunday at 10.am. There will be a Reconciliation Service on Friday from 7pm and a Healing Service on Saturday from 7.30pm. All are welcome.

✨Discipleship days 2026/2027!✨

Please join the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal (CFR’s) for Discipleship Days at St Patrick's Mission Church in Bradford.

This year, the theme is "May the Lord Give You Peace".

Upcoming dates include:

✨ February 6,
✨ March 6,
✨ April 3,
✨ May 1.

The day begins at 11:45am and includes the Rosary, Holy Mass, lunch and social time, a talk in the afternoon, Confessions, and a Holy Hour with Eucharistic adoration, concluding at around 4:30pm.

Lots of us want to read more Scripture but we don’t know where to start. Over the next couple of months our will focus on what the Catechism says about the Word of God.

The Bible is not just a book. It is a meeting place with Christ. Spend a few minutes each day with Scripture and discover more deeply the One who loves you.
