Celebrating One Year of God’s Faithfulness — AFM IM UK Church on Mission Middlesbrough Assembly
“Thus far the Lord has helped us.” — 1 Samuel 7:12
What a journey it has been! What began as a burden carried in prayer, a vision birthed in faith, and a work founded upon the promises of God has now reached its first anniversary.
With hearts overflowing with gratitude, we can only say: Ebenezer! Thus far the Lord has helped us!
As the Pastor of this great work, I am deeply humbled and profoundly grateful for what God has done. Looking back, I see not merely a church, but a family that God Himself has brought together — men and women who love God, love His work, and have willingly given themselves to His Kingdom.
From the very foundations of AFM IM UK Church on Mission Middlesbrough Assembly, you have stood with us. You prayed when there was little to see. You gave when giving required sacrifice. You encouraged when the journey was challenging. You served when nobody was watching. You believed in what God was building.
You have not simply attended this church — you have helped build it.
Your generosity, sacrificial giving, prayers, encouragement, love, and commitment to the house of God have touched us deeply. And beyond the ministry, you have also embraced us personally as the Makaure family. For every act of kindness, every prayer, every word of encouragement, every sacrifice and every expression of love — thank you from the depths of our hearts.
You have shown us what happens when believers walk together in love, unity, faith and purpose. Your lives testify that when God's people stand together, support one another, and put Christ at the centre, a community is transformed.
We are reminded that it is our love for God that compels us to serve, to give, to encourage, to pray and to keep doing good. Your love for God has been evident in everything you have done, and we are forever grateful to God for each and every one of you.

From the beginning of this journey until now, you have walked with us. Your conversations, prayers, leadership, guidance, financial support, visits, encouragement and wisdom have shaped us in ways that words cannot fully express.
You did not simply watch from a distance — you stood with us.
You prayed with us.
You encouraged us.
You guided us.
You supported us.
You celebrated with us.
And for that, we will forever be grateful.
Your investment in this work has helped make us stronger, and your love has reminded us that Kingdom family knows no distance.

Every time you showed up mattered.
What we are celebrating today is not simply the passing of twelve months. We are celebrating God's faithfulness, His provision, His protection, His grace, and the unity of His people.
This anniversary celebration was made possible because Church on Mission Leeds and Church on Mission Middlesbrough came together as one family.
And what a beautiful testimony that is!

We may be celebrating one year, but we believe this is only the beginning. The God who started this work will continue to establish it. The God who gathered us will continue to unite us. The God who has brought us this far will take us even further.
May our best days in ministry still be ahead of us.
May our love for God grow deeper.
May our unity grow stronger.
May our commitment to His Kingdom become greater.
And may this house continue to be a place where lives are transformed, families are strengthened, souls are saved, and Christ is glorified.
