A WEEK OF PRAYER & WORSHIP FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Over the past few weeks, our community has experienced some incredibly tragic things. As a church, we feel there is a real need to keep praying, keep interceding and keep standing together for our community — particularly the TS6 area.

So next week, we’re opening the doors of South Bank Baptist Church for a week of prayer and worship.

📅 Monday–Friday
🕕 Prayer | 6–7pm
🎶 Worship | 7–8pm

These evenings will be quiet, reflective and accessible to everyone. There will be some led prayer, but also plenty of space to simply sit, reflect, pray for yourself, pray for others, or spend time with God.

You don’t need to be a regular churchgoer.
You don’t need to know what to pray.
You can come for the whole evening, or simply pop in and out whenever you need to.

☕ Free tea & coffee will be available, and our doors will be open throughout.

We believe prayer matters. We believe our community matters. And we want to stand in the gap together.

If you live in TS6, have been affected by what has happened, or simply want to pray for our community, you are welcome. ❤️

GATHER TO PRAY FOR TEESSIDE

This has been an incredibly difficult week for Teesside.

Our communities have been shaken by tragic deaths, serious violence, crime and events that have made national headlines. Families are grieving. Our police and emergency services are under enormous pressure. Many across our towns are understandably feeling shocked and unsettled.

On the very same week, churches across Teesside have come together to launch Bible Conversations, inviting thousands of people to encounter the Bible and discover Jesus.

For many of us as church leaders, this feels like a particularly important moment to PRAY.

Scripture reminds us:

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood…” — Ephesians 6:12

One of our most important responses to moments like this is to pray and to ask God to bring his light, hope and blessing across Teesside.

There are TWO opportunities for Christians from across Teesside to gather and pray:

Christians from every church and tradition are invited to gather together.

We will pray for those who are grieving and afraid; for our police, emergency services and civic leaders; for peace and an end to violence and crime; and for God’s protection and blessing over our communities and we will pray that in the middle of darkness many people would encounter the hope and light of Jesus.

Tomorrow, Friday 28th August, we have an opportunity to come together and show our support for one another in a small but meaningful way. 💖

Everyone is welcome. Come along, stand together with our community, and remind one another that we are not alone.

Rubies will then distribute the pebbles throughout our local area as a simple symbol that we stand together — with love, support and hope. 🩷

This August, we’re doing something a little different.

Every Sunday will be an all-age family service, with everyone worshipping together. There won’t be separate children’s groups because the whole service is designed for every generation to enjoy and understand.

Whether you’ve been a Christian for years, you’re exploring faith for the first time, or you simply have questions about God, this series is for you.

We’ll be looking at some of life’s biggest questions and discovering what Jesus has to say.

This is the perfect month to invite a friend, neighbour, work colleague or family member who has been wondering about church but doesn’t know where to start.
