GATHER TO PRAY FOR TEESSIDE

This has been an incredibly difficult week for Teesside.

Our communities have been shaken by tragic deaths, serious violence, crime and events that have made national headlines. Families are grieving. Our police and emergency services are under enormous pressure. Many across our towns are understandably feeling shocked and unsettled.

On the very same week, churches across Teesside have come together to launch Bible Conversations, inviting thousands of people to encounter the Bible and discover Jesus.

For many of us as church leaders, this feels like a particularly important moment to PRAY.

Scripture reminds us:

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood…” — Ephesians 6:12

One of our most important responses to moments like this is to pray and to ask God to bring his light, hope and blessing across Teesside.

There are TWO opportunities for Christians from across Teesside to gather and pray:

Christians from every church and tradition are invited to gather together.

We will pray for those who are grieving and afraid; for our police, emergency services and civic leaders; for peace and an end to violence and crime; and for God’s protection and blessing over our communities and we will pray that in the middle of darkness many people would encounter the hope and light of Jesus.

Looking to build your confidence, meet new people, or take a positive next step?

We’re delighted to be hosting a FREE 4-week LifeSkills Open course at The Beacon Church, Linthorpe.

Together we’ll explore topics such as:

Our free after-school sports camp is back on Monday! Camp of Champions kicks off at 4pm next week and is free for all children in school-years 4-6.

Have you ever tried to read the Bible from the beginning? This is where it starts to feel confusing.

A whole bunch of laws, rules, strange customs, stuff about slavery??

And the question that naturally comes up is, if God is good, why are these things in the Bible at all? 🤷🏼
