Today, as we mark Mothering Sunday, we give thanks for the love, care and faith of the women who shape our lives: mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, sisters, friends and all those who nurture and support others.

We also hold in our prayers those who find this day difficult: those who are grieving, separated from loved ones, or longing for the relationships they hoped for. May you know God’s comfort and peace today.

This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate 150 years of Mothers’ Union, and we are delighted that Mothers’ Union will be featured on Songs of Praise today on BBC One at 1:15pm.

If you haven’t yet done so, there is still time to support our Make A Mother’s Day appeal by giving a Gift of Belonging to help young mothers across Rwanda. Find out more www.mothersunion.org/appeal/make-a-mothers-day-2026/
