Henry Nowak RIP
You will have seen the distressing images surrounding the tragic death of young Henry Nowak. Let us pray for the repose of his soul and keep his family especially in our prayers at this time. They have responded with such dignity, in the face of what must feel like overwhelming grief and anger: “We do not want his death to be used to create further division, hatred or tension," Henry’s father Mark said. Let us echo their wish by praying for healing, true peace based on justice, and an end to violence and hatred in our nation.

2nd Collections
Parishioners have asked about how to donate to 2nd collections when they have no cash on them. You can now do this by using the QR code which is located near the card machine. The next 2nd collection is on the weekend of 21 June for the “Day for Life Fund” which makes grants to organisations which promote respect for life in various ways. Resources to mark the Day for Life are here:www.cbcew.org.uk/day- for-life/.

The meeting is to allow you to find out more about Health and Safety in the Diocese, get to know the Diocesan Safety Advisors (ours is Debra Butler) and a way for you to let us know if you have any ideas or questions for ensuring your church remains a welcoming and safe place.
The meeting will start off with guidance on:
• Fire Awareness (including use of an extinguisher)
• Safe use of steps and ladders
• Terrorism preparedness
• COSHH (Control of Hazardous Substances)
The rest of the time is up to the volunteers anything, they would like to discuss, such as: use of defibrillator; Manual Handling – how to do a safe lift. Electrical safety and portable appliances; Asbestos Awareness.
We have been asked to encourage attendance as a priority. Thank you.

Sincere congratulations to our children who make their First Holy Communion next weekend. Let’s keep them in our prayers.

God bless you & yours, Canon John

The National Day of Prayer for Survivors of Abuse takes place every year on the fifth Tuesday of Easter. In 2026, the day is marked this Tuesday, 5 May.
The theme for this year’s Day of Prayer looks at the scourge of domestic abuse which causes pain and fear that prevent its victims from living the life Jesus came to bring. Below is the link to the CBCEW website for resources which you may find helpful.
