What a blessing yesterday morning was, as our children, young people and their leaders continued to inspire us with their creativity and passion for Jesus!

Reflecting on healing and in particular the story of the woman reaching out to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, the children made their own tassels to remind them that, when things are not going well, they can hold on to the tassel and know that “their faith can be made well.”

Rev. David spoke about the calling of the twelve disciples and how they were misfits of their time. There wasn’t a church leader among them and yet they took the good news wherever they went! A reminder that it doesn’t matter who we are, or what our background might be, or where we work, we are all called by Jesus to show and share His love, grace, hospitality and forgiveness to everyone we meet…starting right where we are.

A powerful message, but one that we constantly need to remember, if we want to make difference in our community. As a church, we strive to make a difference, helping everyone who comes through the doors. Granted, not everyone wants the help, but we will always share the hope of the gospel! To the glory of God! 🙏

At the outset of our Service, we also acknowledged the anniversary of the chapel, built in 1841 and which was opened over two services on the 8th and 9th June the same year. Coincidentally, former minister, Rev. Jason Wilkins shared a photo that is likely to have been taken at the turn of the 20th century!

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Why not join us tomorrow to hear how twelve unlikely people changed the world, all because of their decision to follow Jesus. We will also celebrate a milestone in the life of the church and share in the Lord's Supper.

Featuring traditional and contemporary hymns and songs, Bible readings, prayers, some church news and S.A.S. (Story, Activity and Song) for children and young people, there is something for everyone.

Doors open at 10.30am and a warm welcome assured!
