Born this day 1756 in Llanfaredd, Radnorshire,

Edward 'Celtic' Davies.

Davies was a writer and clergyman who wrote on the origins of Celtic languages and mythology. He was a contemporary of Iolo Morganwg and their work became part of the 19th-century reinvention of the druidic tradition. However although popular in his time, he is now regarded as being wildly inaccurate, but unlike Iolo, this was not deliberate and in fact at the time, he was one of the very few who was suspicious of Iolo's work.

Many thanks to our friend Bethan Jenkins for a most enjoyable and interesting service on Sunday. It was lovely to have Marshall and Alice from 'Good News' (formerly The Gideons) join her to address us. Bethan opened the service with a Reading from Acts 9:26-40.
Marshall gave a very interesting overview of the purpose and work of Good News and how it has developed over the years. He spoke about the Holy Spirit, the word of God and the message about Jesus. Alice shared two very poignant stories of two people and how their lives changed for the better as a result of accessing The Gideon Bible. They came to know God and believed in Jesus. "Making a Difference."
Both spoke about their work and how they ensure bibles are available to all, for example going into schools etc. They also brought along a wide range of publications for us to take away.
We prayed giving thanks for gathering together, the love of Jesus, forgiveness of our sins. We prayed for Audrey, Allan and Alun. We send our love and prayers. We prayed too for those suffering . Horeb Chapel Penydarren Weekly News:-
