A brief summary of Sundays sermon from Alyson Rogan

Genesis 33:1-20

Genesis 33 teaches us three enduring lessons.

FIRST, the way up is the way down. God humbles before He exalts.

SECOND, every kindness we experience is God’s providence.

Not our cleverness.Not our strategies.Not our gifts. His mercy.

THIRD, gratitude must lead to obedience. Blessing is not the destination.

Bethel still awaits.

Jacob bowed low. Jacob received grace. But Jacob still had to learn full obedience.

And so do we.

The God who wrestled Jacob into humility is the same God who patiently sanctifies His people today. He humbles because He loves. He reconciles because He is gracious. And He calls us all the way — not halfway — into obedience.

May we trust His providence. May we bow before He raises us. And may we go all the way to Bethel.

1st SOUTH STREET BOYS BRIGADE AND GIRLS ASSOCIATION COMPANY starts again on FRIDAY 12th SEPTEMBER at 6pm.

Boys and girls aged 5-18 years are very welcome to join us, every Friday evening from 6pm until 7.30pm during term time, for fun and games, art and craft, cooking, nature and science activities and Bible stories.
The weekly subscription is £2.
