The Welby flower arrangers have had a wonderful afternoon at the church doing flowers for tomorrow's service. The church looks beautiful and the churchyard better than it has looked for a long time.
All welcome to join us at 3pm for our Memorial Service of Evening Prayer for Theo Mayfield, a former Church Warden at Welby and Verger at St Mary's.
The service will be led by Canon Malcolm Britton and we will be serving Cream Tea's after.

Please join us on Sunday 7th June 3pm for a Service of Evening Prayer remembering Theo Mayfield who was Church Warden at Welby for many years from 1996.
Theo was also Verger at St Mary's and lived in Church Terrace.
The service will be led by Canon Malcolm Britton.

Our flower arranging team will be busy on Saturday getting the church looking its best for this special event.
All welcome to stay for Cream Tea's which we will be serving after the service which were a favourite of Theo's.
A warm welcome assured.

Suddenly we are into May !
Thiis lovely weather helps us welcome in the new month at Welby with the hedgerows weighed down with blossom and livestock in the fields.
We are looking forward to meeting for our service this Sunday, Evening Prayer led by Linda Pearson at 3pm.
We would be delighted if you could join us, refreshments served after service and time for a chat.

Hopefully this won't spoil anyone's plans..... the road that the church is on will be closed from St Bartholomew's Way to the junction with Welby Road .
This is beyond our control but we apologise for any inconvenience.

What a wonderful Easter weekend at Welby !
We welcomed over a hundred visitors to our Coffee Morning on Saturday with ages ranging from 9 months to 99 years old. Hot Cross Buns were the order of the day but sausage rolls and homemade cakes also went down well. Our thanks to everyone for joining us and being so generous with donations to the Church Fabric Fund.
Our Easter Sunday service was Holy Communion led by Rev. Jane Walker which was also well attended . Jane surprised us all by bursting into song ! And of course, we put the kettle on after service and stayed for a chat and more cake.
We would be delighted to welcome you to a service, 3pm on the first Sunday of each month.
Or our next Coffee Morning on Saturday 4th July when we will be celebrating the British summer with the church decorated and serving Cream Tea's

Wondering what to do tomorrow ?
Why not spend some time at Welby ...... see our lovely rural church decorated for Easter and enjoy a cuppa and a Hot Cross bun ( or one of our delicious homemade cakes )

With this wonderful weather and our Easter Coffee Morning and Easter Sunday service approaching our thoughts turned to the churchyard.
