We had a wonderful service at Welby yesterday, Songs of Praise in memory of Coralie Allen and were delighted to welcome so many members of Coralie's family.
Our thanks to Canon Malcolm for arranging and leading the service; there can't have been many churches where " When Shepherds watched their flocks by night " was sung yesterday ...... Malcolm's theme included a hymn to reflect each season !
Thanks as ever to our flower arrangers and to Sandra for bringing a beautiful arrangement of sunflowers.
And of course to Pat, for serving an excellent Cream Tea with time to chat with a well earned cuppa after the service.

Over the past few weeks we have been pleased to welcome Mercian Archaeology back to Welby to run their annual Archaeological Training Field Scools
The focus again this year has been on the site believed to be the kitchen gardens and ancillary buildings to the old Manor House.
Mercian became interested in Welby in 2017 after the installation of our carpark required an Archaeological Watching Brief.
Sean & David have amassed a wealth of knowledge based on surveys and evidence from digging in and around the site of the Deserted Medieval Village which is mentioned in the Doomsday Book.
We are always pleased to open the church for the students on the last day of their week at Welby.
Our thanks also to Mercian for their donation to church funds for use of the church car park.
