Mawgan Church Daffodil Festival
Phew, that's it until 2027 (although you can still see the daffodils for a few more days). There are some very tired and sore people in Mawgan tonight having been on their feet for several days organising, setting up, stewarding at and serving refreshments at the Mawgan Church Daffodil Festival. THANK YOU to everyone involved it has been so much appreciated. Close to two thousand people have come through the church doors and many came for the first time ever. We won't know for some time how much money has been made for the church but we do know that everyone has been most generous. So THANK YOU to all the visitors and for the kind comments here and in other places..

Daffodil Festival Day 2
A more manageable day as, although not far short of yesterday in overall numbers, it was a steadier and better spaced flow. So, far almost 1500 have come to visit, although we can't tell how many have come both days. The flowers look even more lovely as they come into full bloom and this evenings' service added a new light dimension in the twilight. In his sermon Bishop Hugh spoke of heaven being on earth and in our hearts.
Photo of Revd Mike North, who took the service, Rt Revd Hugh Nelson, Bishop of St Germans who preached, and the Churchwardens.

Amazing, incredible, beautiful, wonderful - just some of the remarks from today's visitors. The daffodils had come into bloom, people came out in their hundreds and even the sun came out to gild the first day of the Daffodil Festival.
Then the icing on the cake was Odds and Sods singing in the afternoon. The church was packed with over 300 people, they were queueing outside and there was just no room to admit more. So they stood outside enjoying the sunshine and the music.
Two more days if you missed today.

It's started! Thank you Odds and Sods for the photo. See you at 2.30 in the church.
