Hi everyone,
We do hope you will join us for our Oasis session in All Saints' Church, Mattishall, this coming Sunday afternoon (10th May) from 4pm to about 5.30pm. The event is for families with youngsters of up to the end of Primary School (or thereabouts). We will have craft related to our theme of the Fall of Jericho as well as (a short time of) prayer, drama (probably not well acted) and an action song or two... all followed by a light tea together.

Oasis is good fun and there is no charge. We would love to have you with us. If you have any queries, please ask Sue at [email protected].

See you there?

Alan

This coming weekend we are having two extra events at All Saints, Mattishall, in addition to the normal Sunday services. On Saturday we are running Who Lets The Dads Out?, a time for dads and other male carers with children school year 2 and under. This runs from 9.00 to 10.30 and will have bacon rolls, other refreshments, lots of toys and a real chance for dads to chat with each other in a relaxed environment. This is running a week later than usual since we had the Easter Fun Day on the first Saturday of the month, i.e. 4th April, when WLTDO would normally have run. £3 per family.
Then on Sunday afternoon, we have Oasis from 16.00 to 17.30, a time for families with young children up to about the end of primary school, with craft, drama, music and prayer followed by a light tea together. There is no charge for this.
By the way, do feel free to try out the 10.30 service this coming Sunday as it is "Café Church" this week, an even more informal service than the 10.30 service usually is. No sermon, but a time of eating croissants and looking at the bible together in a very informal and friendly way.
Our more formal 9.00 service is congregation-led this week.

WLTDO will be run on the 2nd Saturday of April, i.e. 11th April, instead of the usual 1st Saturday. Why? Because we are ...

WLTDO will be run on the 2nd Saturday of April, i.e. 11th April, instead of the usual 1st Saturday. Why? Because we are running an Easter Family Fun Day on 4th April (Easter Saturday).

Hope you can make both!

Hi everyone,
Oasis is running again this coming Sunday, i.e. Sunday 1st March, in All Saints' church, Mattishall. It will be at its normal time of 16.00 to about 17.30. We are bringing it forward a week as Sunday 8th March is when we are welcoming our new rector, Rev. Kirsty Long.

This Sunday's Oasis will feature another episode in the life of Moses, the "Great Escape", where God sets his people free from slavery in Egypt. As usual there will be craft, a skit, a song or two, prayer and food afterwards, a good time to chat.

We would love to have you with us for both events.

Note that WLTDO will be on its normal 1st Saturday in March, i.e. 7th March.

Rev. Kirsty Long will be the new rector of Mattishall and Tudd Valley Benefice (the parishes of Mattishall, Welborne, East Tuddenham, Hockering, North Tuddenham and Yaxham). The service welcoming her will take place at All Saints’ Church (ASM), Mattishall, on Sunday 8th March starting at 5pm.
The service will be led by, among others, Bishop Jane (Bishop of Lynn) and we are expecting a good number of people from the parishes where Kirsty has been curate.
There will be refreshments in ASM itself after the service.
You are cordially invited to come to the service and stay for those refreshments. If you have any questions, please contact us on either [email protected] (Mandy in the office) or [email protected].
Looking forward to seeing you there.

Who Let The Dads Out?, Oasis and Pancake Party at ASM

Hi everyone,
This weekend we are running Who Let The Dads Out? on the Saturday and Oasis on Sunday afternoon at All Saints, Mattishall NR20 3QA.

Who Let The Dads Out? is our monthly event for dads and other male carers with their kids aged from newborn up to and including school year 2. We start the event at 9.00 this Saturday 7th Feb. and finish at 10.30, though you can come and go at whatever time you like during that time. As usual there will be toys, snacks (inc. bacon rolls), drinks and the chance for dads to chat with other dads. At the end we have a short get-together up the front. The charge is £3 per family.

Oasis is our event for people with youngsters up to about school year 6. There is themed craft from 4pm followed by drama (of questionable quality) on that theme, a song (maybe two), a prayer then food, finishing around 5.30pm. There is no charge for this event.

On Tuesday 17th February we will also be having a pancake party from 12 noon till 2pm. There will be pancakes (surprise!) and toys out as well like at Little Angels and Who Let The Dads Out? The cost will be £5 per family. As we are preparing pancakes for just this event, it would be really helpful to know the rough number of people who will be coming, but payment of the £5 can be made on the day or beforehand. For more details, please email Sue Cossey on [email protected] or speak to her at Little Angels next week, Who Let The Dads Out? tomorrow or Oasis on Sunday. If you would like to come to the pancake party and want to pay on the day, please just let Sue know so we can get numbers of pancakes right.

We'd love to see you there.

Alan
