We meet again tomorrow afternoon 😊.

Hello,

'Just a reminder that we meet next Tuesday 8th September at 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm.

Our venue is All Saints' Church Hall on Smedley Street, Matlock. It’s helpful that there is a car park in front on the hall.

We meet informally as we chat over a drink and a biscuit and then we have a circle time with a specific focus. Although this provides an opportunity to talk about personal experiences of grief there is no pressure to do so - it's okay just to listen if you prefer.

Our focus for the week:

Do you have anything that brings you comfort when you think of your loved one?

This may be a hat, scarf, a piece of jewellery, or may be something they made that you cherish. It may be a favourite song or poem that helps you to still feel their love.

You may want to bring along something to show us, read a poem, sing a song…. Or you may just want to talk about how you find comfort in this way, as you grieve.

If you don’t find comfort in this way yet, that’s okay too.

Sometimes it can be helpful to listen to the experience of others that may feel differently to you or who have begun to find they are managing to find hope in their grief. This can encourage you and in turn give you hope for your future.

Just a reminder that our next meeting will be on Tuesday 25th August.

Just a reminder that we will NOT be meeting on the second Tuesday in August, so our next meeting will be TUESDAY 25th AUGUST - the 4th Tuesday in the month of August.

We will meet at 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm at All Saints' Church Hall.

We start with a drink and a biscuit and the chance to chat with and get to know others in the group.

We than have a circle time, and a focus for the meeting. There is no pressure to join in, you can just listen if you would prefer, but we do have some lovely circle times. Our group is very welcoming, and everyone is very understanding and supportive - it's a privilege to be there for such amazing men and women.

There is no charge but donations are appreciated.

Everyone who is dealing with grief and loss, not matter how recent or how long ago, is welcome.

Meeting with others who are grieving can be comforting and you're sure to be greeted with a warm welcome.

Our next meeting is this Tuesday, 28th July.

I mentioned last time that we will not be meeting on the second Tuesday in August, due to summer holidays, but will be back again as normal on Tuesday 25th August.

With this in mind, our focus for our meeting on Tuesday, is discussing setting a personal goal or task for the afternoon we'll not be meeting - something to still look forward to, to give a sense of hope, something to aim for.

It could be meeting a friend for a coffee, or going out for a picnic, it may be planning a day out with family or friends, or if you're not feeling like meeting up with others, promising yourself some time on your hobby or interest - painting, craft work, playing a musical instrument or singing, going for a walk in a favourite spot, or it may even be more specifically connected with your loss, visiting a grave, or natural burial ground, to find some comfort and connect with your loved one.

We meet again this coming Tuesday.😄

We meet again this Tuesday, 14th July and our focus is on 'moving forward rather than moving on'.

Many of us have felt under pressure to 'move on' but how do you feel about finding a way to move forward?

There will be opportunity to talk about our experiences of moving forward, coping strategies, etc. but also our difficulties.

Come and have a cuppa and chat with others that understand.

Just a reminder - we next meet on Tuesday 14th July.

Hello,

I just wanted to remind everyone that we meet next Tuesday 14th July as it will be the 2nd Tuesday in the month.

It can be easy to get caught out and think we meet each other Tuesday but as July started on a Wednesday, but this isn't the case this time.

So see you next Tuesday.

This is going to be our focus tomorrow. Even if you don't come to our group you may find it helpful to consider what comforts you most in your loss.

Tomorrow (Tuesday 23rd June) we're going to share about how we find comfort in our loss:

You can tell us about someone who helps comfort you, or you may want to bring along and show us, something that comforts you, as you grieve: it may be something that belonged to your loved one that you treasure, a favourite photo of them, something they made, or you've made or done to help you with your loss.

I've not tried to be too specific this time, to give you freedom to share from your personal experience.

If you haven't found something that comforts you yet, please come along - it may help to think of something that could help comfort you in your grief.

We meet again tomorrow, and we will be remembering some of the fond times with our loved ones, inspired by the poem "The Afterglow" by Helen Lowrie Marshall.
