St John the Baptist, Markyate

St John the Baptist, Markyate Friendly, inclusive and straightforward. We love God,
and we love Markyate. Come and see. Our traditional Sung Communion is every Sunday at 9.30am.

St John The Baptist is an Anglican Christian church offering services for all ages. Children are welcome, and we have a children's club called Rise and Shine which takes place during the communion service each Sunday. Parents are welcome to stay with their children or leave them with our friendly Sunday school helpers while they join the service. There is also Midweek Mass at 10am on Wednesdays an

d a monthly Choral Evensong. We have many social events throughout the year, including our monthly coffee morning and book sale. Please check this page or the Markyate Matters magazine for updates.

St John’s is set up and ready. The Prosecco is on ice. There are some truly fabulous items just waiting to be discovered (men’s clothing too) and taken to a new wardrobe near YOU!

The doors for The Pre-loved Clothing Sale (although lots of the items are brand new) will open at 6.45pm tomorrow evening (Saturday 5th September). £5 entry, including a glass of fizz!

A reminder that the Foodbank is open to all in need just now. It's in St John's this Wednesday from 11.30am to 1.00pm. Drop in for a cuppa, a warm welcome and a friendly offer of help. You stay in control.

How do you find St John's? If you're walking: head under the underpass at the north of the High Street, turn left and you're there. If you're driving, turn off the A5183 at the traffic lights, towards Slip End. First left onto Church End, and St John's is at the end on the right. There's plenty of parking.
