What a memorable gathering to celebrate the launch of Let’s Visit the Three Sacred Mosques, a beautifully illustrated children’s book that invites young readers to discover the beauty and significance of Islam’s three holiest mosques: Masjid al-Haram, Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Remember the excitement of bringing home a Scholastic Book Fair brochure and circling all the books you wanted? 🤩

We’re bringing that feeling back with the Islamic Book Fair of Scotland 2026!

This year’s fair features over 100 Muslim children’s books, from baby board books and picture books to chapter books and young adult novels, all available to browse and purchase on the day.

Many of these titles aren’t easily found in Scottish bookshops, making this a wonderful opportunity to discover quality Islamic books for your home, school, mosque, or community library.

Beyond the books, families can enjoy:

Why are the Days of Tashriq so beloved to Allah?

From Yawm an-Nahr to Yawm al-Qarr, these are days where sacrifice, prayer, gratitude, takbir, charity, and remembrance come together all at once. The Prophet SAW described them as “days of eating, drinking, and remembering Allah”, teaching us that worship in Islam is not separated from joy, gathering, and gratitude.

The sacrifice itself is not what reaches Allah, but the sincerity, taqwa, and obedience behind it. These blessed days remind us of the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail: choosing Allah above comfort, fear, attachment, and the dunya.

The 11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhul Hijjah are not just days after Eid. They are days to continue remembering Allah with full hearts.

May Allah allow us to spend these blessed days with hearts full of remembrance, gratitude, and sincerity. Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum. ✨

Your Dhul Hijjah Checklist 🌙✨

The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are among the most beloved days to Allah, a precious opportunity to increase in worship and draw closer to Him.

Alongside these 10 good deeds, let us remember something just as important: because Dhul Hijjah is one of the sacred months, we should be especially mindful of our actions and strive to stay away from sin. Sometimes leaving a sin can be more beloved to Allah than adding another good deed.

Increase your dhikr, say SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar, and La ilaha illAllah often. Turn back to Allah through sincere tawbah, fill your days with acts of worship, and keep yourself busy with goodness.

It is reported that Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنهما became so occupied with good deeds during these blessed days that people would hardly see him.

May Allah allow us to make the most of these beautiful days, accept our efforts, and bring us closer to Him 🤍
