We have recently welcomed Friends of Linwood Church, Frank Wheaton and his wife Sue to the church. It was Frank’s first visit and they had travelled up from Norfolk and it was very informative with him providing information on the stained glass windows and the situation of a third brass in the church which had disappeared long ago. It was thought that the stone in the middle of the two brasses housed the third, in fact, it use to be situated on a stone to the left as you come into the church. Faint marks can be seen in the stone where the brass was once situated. He also provided several extracts from books on the brasses and stained-glass windows.

We have received a grant from Tesco of £500.00 to go towards the restoration investigation fund.

A Prayer for Her Majesty The Queen.

O Lord, look down from heaven, behold, visit and relieve thy Servant, and our most gracious Sovereign Lady the Queen; Look upon her with the eyes of thy Mercy, give her Comfort, and sure Confidence in thee, defend her from the danger of the enemy, and keep her in perpetual Peace and Safety, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Gracious God, we give you thanks for the reign of your servant Elizabeth our Queen, and for the example of loving and faithful service
which she has shown among us.

Help us to follow her example of dedication and to commit our lives to you and to one another, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen. 🙏

After a presentation made to Market Rasen Lions, they have very kindly donated £1,000 towards the fund to carry out further investigative work on the Church to establish the total costs of work needed to secure the fabric of the building. This would then allow an application for a Heritage Lottery Grant.
We are pleased to announce that we have our first friend of St Cornelius Church, a gentleman and his wife who reside in Norfolk; we look forward to welcoming them to the Church in the coming months.
Anyone interested in becoming a friend or has any historic information on the Church can contact Dave Carter on [email protected] or 07875 072880
