Prayers this week for some of the mission organisation whom we support both locally and around the world. 🌍
BMS World Mission.
Everywhere BMS World Mission works,
they see a blight of gender injustice on the lives of countless women.
All BMS partners are committed to seek gender justice across the globe.
This week, pray for Uganda.
Pray that Uganda’s recently elected government will promote national stability & freedom & they will set a positive example for democratic engagement in the region.
Ask for guidance for Uganda Christian Lawyers’ Fraternity (UCLF)’s plan to ensure lasting justice for women & girls.
Pray for support & unity among its leaders, staff & members as they advance justice.
Give thanks for the achievements of BMS workers in Gulu, who provide legal help & training for schools & parents.
Tear Fund.
This week, we are asked to pray particularly for the Ebola crisis sweeping through DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo.)
Cases have already been reported in Uganda & neighbouring countries are at high risk. As of 26th May There have been 220 deaths & more than 900 suspected cases.
There are no known treatments or vaccines for this particular strain & those living in poverty or forced to flee their homes because of with armed conflict are at enormous & increasing risk.
Tearfund’s Country Director for DRC sent this message,
’ We can waste no time in mobilising faith leaders to prevent the spread of Ebola. Pastors are already spreading vital advice on washing hands, seeking medical help at the first sign of symptoms, and issuing guidelines on how to handle dead bodies, to curb the spread of disease.’ Thank you
