On Sunday the service focused on the wonderful holiday club which had taken place at church last week.

Jill, the Captain for the week, gave a summary of the structure of each day and everyone had the opportunity to experience this themselves:

🪩praise Aerobics workout
🎶Worship songs
🏴‍☠️The Buckeneer pirates
👨‍🦳Puppets - reminding us of the treasure of Jesus
🪎Nick, the 1st mate, speaking about the treasure of Jesus. The treasure chest - a Bible, a map, a compass, cross and treasure chest. ( the treasure of Jesus shining in our lives and treasure of Jesus never runs out)

Then it was time to take everything apart and take down the outside tents. The wonderful volunteers of All Saints Church in action again 🥰

Yesterday was our last day of an amazing Treasured holiday club. Our theme was Sailing - what do we do once we have the treasure of Jesus.

Nick reminded us that the key items in the treasure box on the final day were:

Map - reminds us of the Bible
Compass - setting our compass on Jesus
Cross - trusting in the cross of Jesus

He shared that Jesus is like a light that shines in our hearts and we need to carry Jesus the greatest treasure with us and we should share this treasure.

Once again a BIG shout out to our amazing volunteers.

Day 3 of our Holiday Club Treasured. Our theme today was Saving and our victorious captain and was based on 1 Peter 1: 3-9.

The children were learning about Jesus being the greatest treasure of all. He died on the cross for us. He defeated death - he rose again so we can have hope.

We were reminded that we need to be wise and follow the map of the Bible to find Jesus, the greatest treasure.

We are so thankful for all our volunteers - from the young leaders to the adults and those who have made the cakes behind the scenes and serve our morning refreshments.

The Bible passage was from Matthew 13:44-46 and the children learnt about what the greatest treasure is and why it’s so important.

Day 1 of holiday club: our theme was Searching - looking for treasure (Proverbs 2). We looked at where can we find God’s wisdom? In Jesus, in God’s Word and words, recorded in the Bible. Everything we need to find the greatest treasure is in the Bible .

The children, young leaders and adult leaders had a wonderful time and were buzzing with what they were hearing about and the amazing activities.

Aye, Aye Captain - It’s our church’s holiday club time and it starts tomorrow morning (Monday).

The volunteers have been amazing getting the church ready for our great adventure.

We know the children are going to love our themed week -Treasured, as they get to know more about God and Him being the best treasure we could have.

This Time Tomorrow: today at church Caroline read one of our Bible passages and she helped to serve refreshments after the service.

Tomorrow morning she will be at the University of Reading in her role as Associate Professor of Animal Science. In her role Caroline balances teaching, research and department responsibilities.

She has been at the university for over 20 years. Historically Caroline’s work has focussed on nutritional research aimed at improving feeding strategies to meet animals’ needs and enhance outputs like milk and meat. In recent years the emphasis has shifted toward animal health and microbial concerns.

Caroline values supervising postgraduate students and supporting them in their progression to complete their doctorate.
