📢 Important Announcement – The Future of Wild Wednesday

Dear Wild Wednesday Families,

After much thought, Prue and I have made the very difficult decision to step away from running Wild Wednesday. This has not been an easy choice, and our hearts are heavy, but we know it is the right step for us both personally and for our families.

This means that there will be NO group or bake sale this Wednesday.

🆘 Wild Wednesday has always been about community, nature, and connection, and we know how much it means to so many of you—our children included. Because of this, we want to put out an SOS call to see if anyone is willing to take over the leadership of the group. 🆘

We have done all the background work—the policies, risk assessments, insurance information, and hiring details are all in place. If someone steps forward, we will be happy to support them in getting started. But if no one takes it on, the group will unfortunately close.

A few important thank-yous:
🌿 Prue—For the endless hours of messages, planning, and support over the past few days, and for everything she has done since she joined the group. This group would not have been the same without you.
🌿 Anna & Jacky—For being amazing volunteers. Whoever takes over Wild Wednesday will be lucky to have you.

This decision has come after a difficult experience with the church and a lack of support that made running the group no longer sustainable for us. While I won’t go into detail here, please know that this choice was not made lightly.

I will miss Wild Wednesdays hugely—the friendships, the laughter, the community we have built together.

If anyone is interested in stepping up—whether as a leader or volunteer—please reach out to me or message the page as soon as possible.

With love and gratitude,
Jade

Fun, freedom and … Valentines Day crafts were the priorities for Wild Wednesdays this morning ❤️

Lots of team games, imaginative play, crafts, tree climbing, potion making and laughter.

The children made cards and used paint and tape to create hidden messages 💕

Did you know the first Valentines Day letter was written in 1415?! 😱

We finished the session by toasting marshmallows to make some VERY gooey s’mores! 🔥

Don’t forget next week is the Wild Wednesdays bake sale, please come and support us by buying some lovely slices of cake 🍰! There will be some great craft activities for the children too!

Over 25 children joined us for some chilly but sunny fun - all about pancakes today 🥞

We thought we’d get ahead of the curve with our pancake activities 😀 but fear not we’ll be bringing some back ahead of Pancake Day in March …

The children enjoyed flipping ‘pancakes’ on a very floury tuff tray and had a lot of fun using paper plates and paint 🎨

We cooked pancakes over the campfire 🔥 and enjoyed eating them with lemon and sugar 💕

There was also bug hunting, tree hugging, litter picking, team games, messy play, mud kitchen, tunes made on the music wall and a whole lot of laughter 🌳

Join us next week for more fun and freedom

Don’t forget to keep sharing the post about our bake sale on Weds 19th Feb - we’ve already had several people offer to donate cakes but we’re still looking for a few more, so if you (or your children) fancy baking please do let us know ❤️

Spread the word! Please let friends and family know and feel free to share on community pages 🌳❤️

The sun was out and the mood was jolly this morning - we were all about the Lunar New Year 🧧

The children made paper lanterns and paper snakes 🐍 and there were several conversations about the colour red symbolising good fortune and joy 🤩

Did you know 2025 is the year of the snake? The Chinese zodiac welcomes the wood snake today - marking a period of transformation, wisdom and adaptability 💕

There was also some fine motor tweezer work, badger marching, potion making, litter picking, running, jumping, climbing and laughing 😆

We toasted marshmallows on the campfire to make s’mores. Yum.
Join us next week when we’ll be serving 🥞 pancakes!

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ date for your diaries ⭐️⭐️⭐️
We’ll be holding another bake sale on Weds 19th Feb so please come down to support us! There’ll be great activities for the children and lots of lovely cake slices to buy 🍰
Anyone who’d like to support by making a cake, please let us know ❤️

Another fabulous turn out considering the damp morning! Thermal socks ahoy 🧦

It was great to see our regulars and some new faces too, thanks for coming 🌳

Today we celebrated National Squirrel Appreciation Day with lots of squirrel-y activities 🐿

We made squirrel sun catchers using contact paper, used our hands to make a squirrel tail using paint, and used paint again to make some lovely squirrel shapes 🤚

Did you know squirrels are very speedy, reaching up to 20 mph so be mindful to sprint if you’re stealing their hazelnuts! 🤣

The children also played team games, chased hula hoops, identified mushrooms on tree stumps, played in the mud kitchen and used rainbow rice 🌈

We toasted marshmallows on the campfire and made some very sticky s’mores 💕

Join us next week for more Wild Wednesdays Wonder! 🌳🌳🌳

See you tomorrow at 9:30!We’ll have some squirrel crafts and fun waiting for you.
