Dear public

We have had some complaints about offering donkey rides at our family fun day and I wanted to address those complaints:

We believe that God has made a beautiful creation and this includes animals. Living in a town such as Mansfield, we know that some children and families will not have had much opportunity to encounter large animals in a safe and fun environment. Our intention is to provide young people with the ability to interact with some beautiful, gentle animals in a kind and hospitable setting.

Some people are upset about the fact that we are offering donkey rides, on the basis of animal cruelty. We care about the welfare of these animals and have made every provision to ensure that they are treated well. For anyone who is worried about this, I can assure you that the company providing the donkeys are registered with the donkey sanctuary and their handlers are all approved by vets. Shade, water, and food will be provided for the donkeys at the event and care will be taken that they are not overworked or overburdened.

This is a free event for families in our community. We ask that no one causes trouble, or spoils the enjoyment of those who are attending. The site is private property and we will not be permitting any protests in our grounds.
