Yesterday at the St Albans Forest Town Welcome Group we had a brilliant talk by Jac (3rd from left) about the Notts & Lincs Air Ambulance. We were proud to have raised over £340 for this very good cause.

A MESSAGE FROM PHILIP

TOGETHER WE STAND
One of the leisure books I read recently was a light-hearted look at the golden age of the LP. It mentioned many times how music was a shared experience. Today it is all much more solitary as so many seem imprisoned by headphones. On a more serious note more and more are scrapping funerals for so called pure cremation. There has been a huge move from doing things together to doing them on your own. This can even apply to prayer. Many still pray but on their own.
It used to be said that, "The family that prays together stays together." Praying together strengthens a church. It is Jesus' people , meeting together in his name. Think of Matthew 18 v19-20, "Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them." Hanging out with Jesus is the greatest honour but we need help and guidance about how to pray. Prayer draws us into the life of the Trinity. In Romans 8 v26-7, Paul says, "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God."
