🌿 Observed in Profound Solemnity and Reverent Unity 🌿

On Good Friday, 3rd April 2026, St. Ambrose Barlow Parish was observed with profound solemnity and reverent unity. Parishioners, families, and visitors gathered together to commemorate the Passion of Our Lord during the Liturgy of the Passion, which led the community through the scriptural account of Christ’s suffering and death.

The Passion narrative was proclaimed in attentive silence, followed by solemn intercessions offered for the Church, the world, and all who suffer or are in need.

Key moments from this deeply moving service included:

The Veneration of the Cross: In a central and poignant moment, the faithful approached in prayerful humility to honour the instrument of our salvation. ✝️

Holy Communion: The liturgy included the distribution of Holy Communion, which enabled the assembly to partake in the sacramental remembrance of Christ’s self‑giving love.

Quiet Reflection: Extended periods of quiet contemplation, sacred music, and communal prayer provided a sacred space for personal reflection on the mystery of redemption.

The service beautifully united the parish in deep gratitude for Christ’s sacrifice and in a renewed resolve to live more faithfully in His service. Thank you to everyone from our parish and the wider community who came to participate in this solemn observance. 🙏✨

✨ A Night of Light, Song, and New Beginnings ✨

On the evening of Saturday, 4th April, the Easter Vigil at Saint Mark’s was a profoundly moving celebration of faith and community. In the quiet darkness, the church filled with candlelight as the Paschal fire and the moving words of the Exsultet ushered in the Resurrection joy. 🕯️🔥

This sacred night marked the beautiful moment when the doors opened to those who chose to make Saint Ambrose Barlow their spiritual home. The parish family was absolutely overjoyed to welcome five new members into the life of the Church!

The community gathered to celebrate and welcome:
Daniel, who prepared through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), received Baptism and Holy Communion, and stood with the community as a fully initiated Catholic. 🌟

Luna, Mila, Maeve, and Georgina—four children who were baptised, their little candles burning bright against the dark as they took their very first steps on a lifetime of faith. 👶🏼🕯️

The immense joy of the Vigil was shared by the families, sponsors, and catechists whose patient guidance, teaching, and loving support brought these candidates to this beautiful milestone.
As a parish family, the congregation celebrated their commitment and promised to continue walking alongside them—in prayer, in learning, and in fellowship—as they grow in faith.

Please keep Daniel, Luna, Mila, Maeve, Georgina, and all who supported them warmly in your prayers as they begin this exciting new chapter! ❤️🙏

🎺 He is Risen! Alleluia! 🌟

On Sunday, 5th April 2026, Easter Sunday at St. Ambrose Barlow Parish Church was celebrated with radiant joy, deep gratitude, and a beautifully full house! We were absolutely thrilled to welcome so many parishioners from Saint Charles and Saint Mark, who came together as one vibrant community to honor the Resurrection of Our Lord. 🕊️✨

The atmosphere was truly uplifting. The church overflowed as our choirs led us in triumphant hymns, and the liturgy came alive with soaring music, poignant readings, and heartfelt prayers.
Here are a few beautiful highlights from our celebration:

Renewed Faith: Several families publicly renewed their baptismal promises, and many received the sacraments—powerful signs of hope and faith restored.

Sweet Traditions: True to our parish tradition, the children’s faces lit up as they received their Easter egg chocolates! 🍫👶🏽

Community Connection: After Mass, the joy spilled over into fellowship as neighbors, friends, and visitors gathered to share conversation, seasonal refreshments, and the simple happiness of being together.

For so many of us, Easter morning felt like a fresh beginning—a moment to renew our trust in God’s abundant love and carry His light into the world.

☀️ Join us for worship!

The peace and promise of the Resurrection season continue. All are warmly invited to experience the grace of our community. Regular Mass times are published weekly by the parish—we would love to welcome you at our next celebration!

☕️ Sips, Stories, and Beautiful Bonds 🍰

On April 11th, the St. Ambrose Barlow parish hall was filled with warmth, laughter, and the beautiful sound of generations connecting at our Sips & Stories: Intergenerational Tea Afternoon!

Hosted by the wonderful Young Hands of Christ, this special event brought together helping hands and remembering hands for an afternoon of tea, conversation, and gentle fellowship. 👵🏼🤝👦🏾

Our youth served tea and treats with cheerful care, while our senior parishioners shared incredible stories, memories, and wisdom gained over the years. From deep reflections on faith to lighthearted laughter, everyone listened closely, learned from one another, and discovered just how much they have in common.
As cups were refilled, conversations deepened and beautiful new friendships began to take root. The entire room truly reflected the simple holiness of our community—unity, mutual support, and a quiet grace woven between the young and the old. ✨

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the Young Hands of Christ for making this heart-warming afternoon possible!

✨ Connected Hearts, Open Doors ✨

On Saturday, May 9th, our parish witnessed a beautiful bridge being built between generations during our Digital Doorway Event! 💻📱

The amazing Young Hands of Christ hosted an uplifting afternoon dedicated to our senior parishioners. With incredible patience, gentleness, and plenty of smiles, our youth guided our seniors through navigating our digital home—showing them how to join Mass online, access parish news, explore resources, and stay updated with community notices.
Of course, no tech lesson is complete without a little fuel! The afternoon was filled with laughter, friendly banter, and plenty of tea, coffee, and biscuits to keep the spirits high and conversations flowing. ☕️🍪

By the end of the session, the room was full of happy faces, newfound digital confidence, and a beautifully deepened sense of connection.

A massive, heartfelt THANK YOU to our Young Hands of Christ for opening both doors and hearts, and for truly strengthening the bonds of our parish family. ❤️

Pentecost Sunday at St Ambrose Barlow unfurled like a breath of heavenly wind, as the Holy Spirit descended and the Church was reborn among us. The parish family of St Charles and St Mark assembled in reverent unity, the Mass rising like incense of prayer and Scripture, and hymns spilling forth with the bright fervour of the feast. Faces old and new were met with a warm welcome; a reflective homily on the gifts of the Spirit stirred our hearts and awakened our purpose.

After the liturgy, the parish hall became a gentle echo of the day’s joy—light refreshments, easy conversation, and shared laughter knitting us closer. Families, newcomers and visitors were embraced as we prayed together for unity, for courage, and for the guiding flame of the Holy Spirit to kindle hope and mission in each life.

Six words to change your day:

Empty me. Fill me. Use me. 🕊️

A beautiful reminder from Mother Olga of the Sacred Heart that we don’t have to carry it all. We just have to be open.

Which part do you need most today? (I’m definitely in an “Empty me” season! 🙋‍♀️)
