Werneth Memorial Park Nature Caring For You

27/10/2026

🍂 A life of many seasons

As the nights draw in and the harvest is gathered, the countryside settles into a quieter season. It gives us a moment to reflect on the seasons of our own lives.

The spring of childhood, full of discovery. The summer years of growing, loving and building a life. Autumn, with its memories and wisdom, and the quieter days of winter—hopefully after many seasons shared with those we love.

Natural burial honours that connection between life and the earth. A gentle return to nature, becoming part of the land that continues to nurture new life.

Over time, graves blend naturally into the landscape, making space for wildflowers, birds and local wildlife. The grass grows, the trees change and the seasons carry on.

🌿 At Werneth Memorial Park, that is at the heart of natural burial. A peaceful resting place, where life is remembered and nature continues to flourish.

🌿 A peaceful resting place, where nature carries on.

At Werneth Memorial Park, we believe saying goodbye can be gentle on the earth while honouring a life with love and dignity.

In partnership with The Natural Death Centre, we proudly support their ethos and follow their recommended burial guidelines:

🌱 No embalming
🌱 No vaults or concrete materials
🌱 Only biodegradable coffins and shrouds
🌱 Environmentally sensitive burial practices

Our natural burial areas are gently maintained to care for the plants, wildlife and soil. As the seasons pass, resting places become part of the landscape, allowing nature to reclaim and renew the space.

A place to remember, reflect and find comfort in the quiet beauty of nature. 🤍

🍂 Perhaps It’s Time to Find Them Somewhere Peaceful to Rest

You may have kept your loved one’s ashes at home, close to you, because for a long time that simply felt like where they belonged.

There is no right time to decide what comes next.

But as the seasons begin to change, you may find yourself thinking about somewhere permanent. Somewhere beautiful. A place that feels peaceful for them, and somewhere you can return to when you want to feel close.

At Werneth Memorial Park, ashes can be gently interred in a dedicated plot or scattered within our natural grounds, surrounded by meadow, trees, wildlife and open skies.

A place where you can sit for a while, remember the life you shared and watch the seasons come and go.

You’ve kept them close to home. Perhaps now it’s time to give them a beautiful place to rest — that you can always come back to. 🤍🌿

🌿 A Family-Owned Sanctuary, Created with Care

Werneth Memorial Park is more than a natural burial ground. For the Sharples family, it is something deeply personal.

Lovingly owned and managed by Elaine, Luke, Megan and Sophie, the park was created from a desire to give something meaningful back to the local communities their family has been part of for generations.

A peaceful place where nature is protected, loved ones can rest gently within the landscape, and families have somewhere beautiful to return to, reflect and remember.

Family owned. Rooted in the community. Caring for this special place for generations to come. 🤍🌳

🌿 What Is a Natural Burial?

If you’ve only ever known traditional cemeteries, you might wonder what makes a natural burial different.

Put simply, it’s a gentler, more environmentally conscious way to return to nature.

At Werneth Memorial Park, that means using biodegradable materials and avoiding embalming, plastics, traditional polished headstones and heavy landscaping. Graves are also hand-dug wherever possible to minimise disturbance to the surrounding environment.

The result is something very different from a traditional cemetery — a final resting place that becomes part of a living landscape, surrounded by trees, wildlife and the changing seasons.

Simple. Natural. Peaceful. 🌳

If this sounds more like the kind of place you would choose for yourself or someone you love, come and visit Werneth Memorial Park and experience it in person.

🌿 A Different Kind of Final Resting Place

When you picture a cemetery, you might imagine rows of headstones, roads, buildings and the noise of everyday life.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

At Werneth Memorial Park, the countryside is part of the experience. Open skies, far-reaching views, trees, wildflowers and birdsong create a peaceful place to rest — and a beautiful place for family to return to.

Somewhere to walk. Somewhere to sit. Somewhere to remember. 🤍

As the seasons change, the landscape changes with them, creating an enduring connection with nature and the person you come to remember.

If you’ve never considered a natural resting place before, come and see Werneth Memorial Park for yourself. Sometimes you simply need to experience a place to know how it feels.

🍂 A Quiet Place to Sit, Whatever the Weather

As autumn approaches, the landscape at Werneth Memorial Park begins to change — but so does the weather.

We know that visiting someone you love is about having time and space to remember, and sometimes the rain doesn’t make that easy.

That’s why we’ve added a log cabin to the park, providing a warm, sheltered place to sit, pause and reflect while still feeling connected to the beautiful countryside around you.

Because whether the sun is shining or the rain is falling, there should always be somewhere peaceful to sit with your memories. 🤍
