Many of you will have heard about the very moving memorial service that was held to remember, and honour, the 2 men who were killed last year on Yom Kippur.
Hundreds of people were there to hear speeches from the Chief Rabbi, the Chief Constable, Secretary of State for Communities Angela Rayner, Rabbi Walker, the Chair of the Rep Council, a synagogue Trustee, an injured survivor of the attack, and a representative of the Cravitz family. The vice Lord Lieutenant read a message from King Charles.
Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby were the 2 men, members of Heaton Park synagogue, who died while trying to protect the congregation.
As is our custom we read Memorial prayers and sang songs and Psalms.
We ended the event in the usual way, by singing the 2 national anthems.
It was a hugely moving event and many tears were shed after listening to the speeches.
The overall emotion is that hate will not win, we are stronger together, we are family, and we will get through this.
