University of Manchester Christian Union

University of Manchester Christian Union We want to build a community of students who:
- Enjoy friendship
- Invite conversation
- Share the good news of Jesus

UoMCU is all about taking the amazing good news of Jesus Christ and sharing it with every student on campus, and providing opportunities for them to respond to it! We're from a wide variety of different churches, but we are united in what matters – that Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins and allow us to be forgiven, have eternal life and become children of God and that you

don't have to do anything other than accept it (as it is described in the Bible!)

Weekly meetings include:
Monday: 8:00 Prayer and Praise meeting
Tuesday: 19:00 Main meeting
Wednesday: Faculty Impact Groups (for older years)
Friday: 18:00 Hall Impact Groups (for freshers)

We meet most Tuesday evenings during term time to learn from the Bible, pray and are equipped practically to love and talk about the gospel to our friends. We also hold evangelistic events as a CU so that others can hear the good news and have fun together. Our Impact Groups, held on Wednesdays for older years, and on Friday evenings for freshers, are designed to be small groups to study the Bible, build relationships, supporting and coming alongside others in your group. They also support you in learning how to share the gospel with others in your halls or on your course in a real and relevant way. For more information of who we are and what we do, check out our website (https://www.uomcu.com) or send us a message!

WHAT A BLESSING THESE GUYS HAVE BEEN 🤩🙌

“Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭12–13‬

PENTECOST SUNDAY ‘26

Pentecost reminds us that the Church was never meant to run on human strength alone. When the Holy Spirit came in Acts 2, ordinary believers (just like you and me) were filled with boldness, wisdom, and power to witness the gospel to the world around them.

The same Holy Spirit still works today – comforting, convicting, guiding, empowering, and drawing people to Jesus. He doesn’t just move in church services, but in lecture theatres, study spaces, halls of residence, and everyday conversations on campus.

As we celebrate Pentecost, let’s remember that we have 24/7 access to the Holy Spirit, Who helps us in our weakness, gives us wisdom in our studies, peace in stressful seasons, and courage to be witnesses for Christ wherever God has placed us! 🔥🕊️
