15th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

SURVIVE-MIVA
Thank you for your generosity last weekend by your donations for Survive-Miva which came to £586.52 which I will send off next week and await their acknowledgement and receipt for their work.

NEWS OF THE NEW – LECTIONARY FOR USE AT MASS
As many of you will be aware a new translation is coming out beginning the first Sunday of Advent. This has an enormous impact on every parish in financial terms and our parish is no exception. All the books we have in both churches hold six types( year A,B and C in two sections) over the three year reading cycle and to replace them would be an onerous expense. One new book alone for the Church edition amounts nearly £700. I propose to instead order a few Mass leaflets from Redemptorist Publications which will help people to follow the Mass more easily for those who like to have the text available to them. This will also assist some of you who have requested these of late! I do listen! Hopefully, I will place an order for them in the coming days and so they become a useful aid and a helpful source with the word changes in Advent. I am sure we can still use the books we have as well for I don't think the changes are vast...but I have not yet had sight of the new book.

PRAYER TO SAINT BERNADETTE SOUBIROUS

Sunday 11th February is the feast of St. Bernadette. O gentle maiden of Lourdes,
You were chosen by God as a channel of His graces,
and through your humble obedience
to the requests of Mary, Our Blessed Mother,
you gained for us the miraculous waters
of spiritual and physical healing.

that we may be healed of our spiritual
and physical imperfections.

As was done in the grotto of Lourdes,
so let the healing power of God's presence within
our homes and hearts become a wellspring
of grace, forgiveness and mercy to all around us.

Pray for us, Saint Bernadette, that we, like you,
may merit eternal happiness.
Amen.

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.
