Light The World Charity Machines are coming again this December to Manchester. We are excited about working closely with three local charities as well as national and international charities as part of this initiative.
More information to follow soon regarding dates and venue.
In 2024 we had a fantastic response with regards to volunteers and the number of donations made. We will be looking again for your support as volunteers for these machines and also to come and donate, to bring your family, friends and work colleagues and have that special Christmas experience, the spirit of giving! Every donated item will and does make a difference in the life of another.
There will be a dedicated Light The World UK page to cover the 3 venues, Manchester, Birmingham and London.
A link will be shared soon and we would encourage you to follow to get updates and much more.
We look forward to sharing more of this exciting news and invitation to get involved over the next few weeks!

It is with great sadness that we need to share with you that Alan Switzer passed away on 13th August. Alan had been poorly for a while. He is a long standing member of the Hyde ward, and he and his family contributed much over the years. He is a lovely man and will be sorely missed. We ask that you remember Laraine, Darren, Rachel, Mathew and all Alan’s family in your prayers. Alan’s funeral will take place at The Hyde Chapel on Wednesday 2nd September at 1130am.

Regional youth devotional!!!!!

Dear Youth and Parents, we are excited to share with you a summary of the structure of the Greater Manchester Stake Seminary program that will run throughout the Stake, starting the w/c 14th September as follows:

- Two zoom-based age-group classes: Ages 14-16 and Ages 16+.
- ⁠Early morning lessons for each of the two age-group classes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, from 6:15-7am (zoom links to follow).
- ⁠Home study days will occur each Thursday and Friday.
- ⁠Four teachers in total, two per age-group class, split each week between: 1) the Monday and Tuesday early morning classes and 2) the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday early morning/home study days.

This structure has been prayerfully considered with the hope to ensure that the smaller, age-group defined classes, early morning split of sessions and home study enable a more individualised, immersive and community/family based program, which will allow our youth to develop their testimonies in the Saviour and start their day filled with the Spirit.

We are looking forward to seeing the positive impact and blessings in the lives of the youth and families involved in the upcoming Seminary program.

We will be hosting an enrolment and information night on Sunday 6th September at 7pm at the Greater Manchester Stake Centre. This is for all youth in the age bracket and their parents. This will be an opportunity to meet the teachers and find out more information about the seminary program. Please come along.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news that Anthony ‘Tony’ Wiseman of the Bolton Ward sadly passed away on Friday 24th July 2026, following a very short illness, surrounded by those he loved most.

Funeral details:

Tony’s funeral will be held at 12 noon on Friday 21st August 2026 at:

BL1 2QE

All who knew Tony are most welcome to join us at the funeral service as we come together to celebrate his life and remember a very special man.

Following the service, Tony’s graveside committal will be a private family farewell, attended by immediate family only.
