This week it's Christian Aid week. The opportunity to reflect on their essential work here in the UK and across the globe.

This year the focus is on food poverty, and the impact that it has. With 1 in 10 households in the UK experiencing food poverty, the current cost of living crisis leaves many families in need.
In need of food.
In need of hope.
In need of change.

And it's a change that we are all hungry for.

As part of her committment to help make change, Karen is undertaking '70k in May' to raise funds for Christian Aid. Check out her fundraising bit.ly/karens-kickstart for updates and to show your support.

Matthew 7:7

Do you ever feel like you're not alone?
Do you ever feel like the person you have met knows more than they are letting on?
Do you ever feel like there is something more to a conversation that is immediately obvious?

Perhaps, just perhaps, you've been in the presence of Jesus, and you've not quite realised it.
Not recognised him quickly enough.
Not really looked at the person you are with.

Perhaps, just perhaps, if we all did that more often, then we'd realise just how often we meet Jesus on the road... in the supermarket... in the pub.

And if we did, perhaps, just perhaps, we'd talk a little bit more notice of those around us, and how we can impact their lives.

Luke 24: 13-35

January is often a time of thought and contemplation.
A time when people might consider the year just gone, and what the new year could bring for them. A time to reevaluate, rethink, redress, and hopefully rejuvinate their lives.

So, how do you feel?
How does the year ahead look for you?
What do you need to take notice of around you... and respond to?

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

The festive season doesn't always feel so festive. But please don't feel there's no one there over Christmas and New Year.

Lifeshare are running their Christmas Project in Mosaic MCR from 7am - 7pm until Friday 26th. And if you can't make it into Manchester, there's people on hand to speak to.

Just remember it's OK to not be OK.

It's been an amazing year, with plenty to celebrate for all of us. There have been some moments of sadness, but we have been proud to stand with our sisters and brothers to show support and solidarity.

2026 is already looking busy, with plenty already booked into the calendar right across the building, and the ministry teams diaries are looking as busy as ever!

Jenny Jones wasn't able to join us for the annual 'Nandos lunch', so we make no apologies for the obvious photo editing to make sure that she's 'in' the photo!

We hope that you have the Christmas you wish for.....whether its quiet or noisy..peacefilled or adventurous..time with aaaaallllllllll the family or just you and the dog.

Did you know that there was a second mission hall built in the city centre when congregations exceeded the capacity for the hall here at Central Hall MCR? Now an amazing* venue, here's a little bit about the history of just one of the other bygone Methodist locations across Manchester City Centre.

*This is purely the view of Karen Attaway, and may not reflect the feeling of other ministry and building team members.

During Advent we think about the birth of Jesus, our friend and saviour. Someone who makes such an impact on our lives, that we are changed for good.

In a time of busyness and preparation, take some time to think about who has changed your life for good.

And then consider whose life you might have impacted in the same way.
