A prayer for Droylsden Methodist Church by Liz Stuart:

Loving God, you know the plans you have for us, and we trust that they are always for our good. We thank you for your faithfulness in the past, and as we look to the future, may we capture your vision of all you call us to be and do, as we seek to serve you in the community in which you have placed us.
Amen.

The beginning of a new school year, of a new Church year, getting ourselves back into routine can be hard, Lord – but also for those of us who are in different circumstances, the end of the week often sees us weary and looking for a time of rest. It’s then that we need to turn to you, Lord, for the rest you offer us reaches right into our inner being, freeing us from any anxiety or stress, taking from us any unresolved issues that are troubling us or any burdens that are weighing us down, and inviting us to simply be still, and to allow your love and peace to flood our being. So let us wait on you, dear Lord, and find the refreshment we need.

Amen

When we’re up against it, when troubles and disappointments come one on top of another and we can’t see the way ahead, when we feel very much alone, remind us, Lord God, that you are always with us. That worries don’t have to weigh us down because, when we share these with you, somehow the load becomes lighter and we are given the strength to carry on. And if we should get the idea that we are too small, too insignificant, too unworthy for you to bother about, Lord, remind us that you care for the least and the lowest, and that your love will always break through every barrier to reach out and bless us. And we thank you, Lord

A prayer for Methodist Church Crumpsall by Rev. Felix Funwi:

Gracious God, grant strength and wisdom to the inducted President, the Revd Mark Slaney, and to Caroline Stead, Vice-President, as they accompany the Methodist Church through the theme of “Sorrow Joy.”

We commend to your mission for justice and peace for all humanity, those newly appointed as District Chairs, asking that they may serve with courage, compassion, and faithfulness.

We also bring before your throne of grace the new minister of Crumpsall and Fallowfield, the Revd Dr Joseph Mowanzi, and all newly stationed ministers; lead them as they take up new appointments, that they may bring hope to their communities as we begin the new connexional year; in Christ we pray, Amen.

As we enter Creationtide, we’re invited to pause, notice and give thanks for the beauty of God’s creation. 🌿🍂

This season offers a gentle reminder that we are part of creation, not separate from it and that caring for our wellbeing can include reconnecting with the world around us.

Take a moment today to step outside, breathe deeply, notice the changing seasons and give thanks for something beautiful.

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” – Psalm 24:1

May this Creationtide be a time of reflection, restoration and renewed hope for ourselves, for one another and for our beautiful world. 💚🌍
