The Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Student Movement (JSOSM) is a youth group based in the United Kingdom for youth between the ages of 12 and 23 years. It is set up under The Holy Apostolic see of Antioch and all the East. The president is the patriarchal Vicar of the UK, His Grace Mathews Mor Anthimos(current). In bringing together students of our Church under this umbrella, the movement aims to foster and build relationships between each other in a Christian environment. It seeks to give direction and enable the development of personal skills, attitudes and aspirations. Annual events provide a sense of communal belonging and the recognition of our cultural heritage.

Walking with the Saints: Ep 2 St Michael 🪽⚔️

Just who was he?

Archangel Michael is referred to as ‘Chief angel’ or ‘Leader of the Angels”. He is the commander of the heavenly hosts, leading God’s angels in the battle against Satan.

Why is he called a Saint?

The word saint simply means “Holy one.”

Saints aren’t only people who lived on earth, they also include the holy angels who remain perfectly faithful to God.

St Michael is honoured as a saint because he belongs to God’s holy kingdom, serving Him in perfect obedience and continually interceding and protecting those who call upon the Lord.

Learn more about him in this reel!
