St Mary's Priory Church, Old Malton

St Mary's Priory Church, Old Malton You are welcome to visit at any time and we’d love to welcome you to worship with us.

The present church is all that remains of a priory of the Gilbertine Order, the only fully English monastic order, founded by Gilbert of Sempringham in about 1131. Situated on the edge of the lively and interesting market town of Malton, St Mary's is the only surviving Gilbertine Priory Church in England still in use for regular worship. Open daily, visitors are invited to explore this ancient hou

se of God and to join either with us in worship or to enjoy the holiness and quietness of this place. Founded in 1150 AD our church has a strong Prayer Book tradition for all services, whilst also open to new ideas and gives a very warm welcome to all newcomers. Our Weekly Service Times
