Jesus loves you. I'm not sure we actually understand what that means.
Not really.
Because if we did, everything would be different.
The way we see ourselves.
The way we carry our past.
The way we approach God.
We say it so often it stops landing.
Jesus loves you.
Three words that should change everything.
But familiarity can rob them of their weight.
You hear it enough times and it becomes background noise.
Something you nod at without actually receiving.
I've had moments where I forget their weight too.
Because it's easy to hear those words and assume they're for everyone else.
For the people who have it together.
For the people who feel like they deserve it.
Not for someone carrying what you're carrying.
Not for someone with your history.
But that's not what it says.
It doesn't say Jesus loves you if.
It doesn't say Jesus loves you when you're ready.
It doesn't say Jesus loves you except for what you did.
It just says Jesus loves you.
Romans 8:38 says, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Nothing shall be able to separate us.
Not your past.
Not your failures.
Not the version of you that you're most ashamed of.
Nothing.
That's not a feeling.
That's a fact.
Jesus loves you.
Take a moment and actually let that land.
