Our discussion questions, which followed the talk....

1. How would you feel if someone washed your feet at church?

2. What might be the equivalent way to serve someone in our culture?

3. What, if anything, do you think Jesus wouldn’t do to help you?

4. We heard the reading Philippians 2 verses 1-11 at the start of Cafe Church today, which tell us that Jesus took the nature of a servant, and how his followers should have the same mindset.

Verses 3-4 say:
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

How do you feel about that? What does it mean? How easy is it?

5. Galatians 6 verse 10 says:
“As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

How can you serve others
-In this church? (our part of the family of believers)?
-In the community(ies) you are part of? (all people)
(school, home, work, your street, village, town)

And, an additional question added after the event! - How do you need to be served and will you accept help from someone else if you need it? (we aren't always good at this!)
