Maidstone United Reformed Church

Maidstone United Reformed Church Welcome to Maidstone United Reformed Church page! We are a mainstream Christian Church offering a warm welcome to all.

This page aims to give you information about who we are, what we get up to, and the life and events of the Church. Hopefully by exploring the posts and recommendations, you will get a sense of what makes us such a welcoming and friendly place to make your spiritual home. Our services are in the Reformed tradition with hymns, prayers and normally a sermon. We celebrate Holy Communion once a month a

nd all who wish to partake of the bread and wine are welcome to do so. The United Reformed Church has brought together English Presbyterians, English, Welsh and Scottish Congregationalists, and members of the Churches of Christ, through unions in 1972, 1981 and 2000. Sixty-eight thousand people make up 1500 congregations, with nearly 700 ministers, paid and unpaid. The Church in Maidstone is housed in a building which dates from 1865 although the site has been used for Christian worship since 1747.

In worship this morning we remembered mums of all generations, those we knew and those we did not. As each group or individual was remembered, a member of the congregation placed a flower to create the display. At the close of the service all the ladies were given daffodil's.

Today Friday Market held their Christmas Event. Led by Revd. Andrew Royal. Carols, Readings, Tea, Coffee, Mince Pies, Sausage Rolls, Cakes and Christmas Gifts. This year Friday Market raised £3,200. The picture shows all the charities that are being supported. Today we started a new year of fundraising with £205 raised today. A good start. Our thanks to all the helpers today and to the team who make every Friday happen. We hope our guests and customers enjoyed the event. We are open next Friday, 12th, and then close for our Christmas and New Year break, opening on 9th January 2026.

We wish you all a peaceful and happy Christmas and New Year.
