St Swithins CLCGB are extremely saddened to hear the news this evening that Deputy Governor Darryl Hewitt has passed away this afternoon. We are praying for and remembering his wife Irenee, daughter Sarah, son Steven and wider family circle at this very sad and difficult time.
Darryl will be greatly missed by the whole of the Brigade family and will be remembered fondly by his many friends throughout the Ulster Regiment and the wider CLCGB. We are so grateful for his service to the Brigade for many years.

It's been a tradition in St Swithin's for the Sunday School children to bring a Christmas gift for Dr Barnardo's and lay it at the Christmas Tree in Church. These are then collected by staff from Barnardo's and redistributed locally.

I've been in touch with Barnardo's and am delighted that they are able to continue that practice this year despite the "difficulties" of these days. As you know we cannot have the "usual" Children's Christmas Service "In Church" this year - though we do hope to record an "Online" Children's Christmas Service. However the Church will be open from 10am-12noon on Saturday 12th December for you and your children to bring your Barnardo's gift and lay it at the Christmas Tree. I will also be in Church on that morning. Sadly, for reasons I'm sure you appreciate, we can't have Santa. If you can't make it on the Saturday morning you can also bring your gift to the 11am Service on Sunday 13th, Barnardo's staff will collect the presents on Monday 14th.

Thank you for your continuing support of this very worthwhile cause. I'm sure you'll agree that it's more necessary than ever this year.

They gave their today, so we could have our tomorrow. We will remember them.

This has been a challenging year for everyone and even though we are not meeting together today we look forward to better times ahead when we will be able to meet again as a Brigade family.

Hi everyone, this is the colouring sheet for our November Remembrance Challenge!

Colour it in, cut it out and put it in your window as an act of Remembrance, even when many of our usual activities are not happening this year.

We would love to see the pictures of your windows!

Dear Parents/Members

The Regimental Staff of the Church Lads' and Church Girls' Brigade Northern Ireland met last night to discuss the reopening of companies which had previously been proposed for November. In light of new restrictions and guidance the unanimous decision was that a return to face-to-face meetings should be postponed until January.

The Regimental Staff plan to meet again on the 7th of January, with reopening to be confirmed for the 17th of January, dependant on guidance and restrictions at that time.

We understand that this will be disappointing for many of you, we are frustrated too but ultimately the safety of our leaders and members is our main priority.

We would ask that you take part in our online competitions and our upcoming 75th Anniversary service which will be hosted as a watch party on facebook on the 1st of November.

Keep safe
Jean
