What a joyful morning we had today for our Ministry Area Confirmation Service.
It was our pleasure to welcome Bishop Mary & Rev'd Emma to St Michael's Church Maesteg. We celebrated with Mair, Tammy, Richard & Ann as they affirmed their faith and was confirmed by Bishop Mary.
Congratulations to them all.

It was a great joy today to officiate at the wedding of Bethan & Elliott at St Cynwyd's Church Llangynwyd. The sun shone and this was reflected in the church by such a wonderful congregation.
Wishing Elliott & Bethan every happiness and many blessings on their marriage and future together.

Mothers Union on Tour!

Sue, Lynne, Fiona and Jane from our MU branch travelled to London yesterday for the 150th Celebration Service of Mothers Union at St Paul's Cathedral today. They are having an amazing time in worship and fellowship with other MU members celebrating what the Mothers Union have achieved.
I look forward to seeing the photographs of the rest of their trip.

It's CORPUS CHRISTI!

Latin for ‘Body of Christ’ Corpus Christi may also be referred to as
‘Thanksgiving for Holy Communion.’

It commemorates the institution of the Eucharist by Jesus
at the Last Supper.

And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it,
and gave it to them, saying,
“This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying,
“This cup is the new covenant in my blood,
which is poured out for you.”
Luke 22:19-20

Some churches in a more catholic tradition process through the streets on Corpus Christi. The Blessed Sacrament is held aloft by a priest, as a public statement that Christ's sacrifice was for the whole world.

Jesus is always present among us.
The Thanksgiving for Holy Communion celebrates our Christian unity in, and as, the Body of Christ.

Jesus, Bread of Life,
feed our faith,
help us to share our resources fairly,
help us to find joy in our differences,
and help us to love one another
as you have loved us.
Amen.
