A District Testimony Service will take place on Sunday 7th June at 4pm at Stricklandgate Methodist Church.

The service is for Rev Michaela Barker and Deacon Samm Morris, who have been recommended for ordination.

We will also be joined by guest preacher, Rev Christine Dutton. The service will be live-streamed and can be viewed here:

Just to remind you that our General Church Meeting is next Monday, 8th June at 7pm. We will be reflecting on the progress we’ve made this year and our hopes and plans for the future. Themes for discussion are worship, learning and caring, service and evangelism.

Today we mark Aldersgate Sunday, in addition to Pentecost. This is an important day in the Methodist Church, as it commemorates a transformative experience of our founder, John Wesley, when he felt his heart “strangely warmed” by the Holy Spirit. After this event his relationship with God was strengthened. We celebrate this event every year and ask the Holy Spirit to transform us too.
