Back in November 2025 the B2G contained a Winter Purslane seedling to take home to grow for a winter salad crop. The Winter Purslane is now beginning to come into leaf and the tiny spade like leaves can start to be harvested. Simply cut the little leaf heads off, add to other winter salad leaves, wash and create a dish of mixed salad leaves.
Botanical Notes:
๐ฅ ๐ฑWinter Purslane is a hardy annual herb. Today it is lauded for its properties - one of the few vegetable sources of Omega-3 essential fatty acids, a source of Vitamin A,B and C, magnesium, calcium and potassium minerals. ๐ฑ๐ฅ
