This week we are saying hello to Mark on the Encounter podcast and, at the same time goodbye to his time here at Lee Abbey as he enters retirement!

Many of us know and love Mark here at Lee Abbey. Through various roles, Mark and his family has faithfully served Lee Abbey for many years, the first 16 years ago.

New Podcast episode with our new Reach Lead! Simon Allaby started off as our house team lead (now recruiting his replacement!) and has now transitioned into a marketing Reach Lead role through a long journey of twists and turns. Feeling like a 'round peg in a round hole', as Simon says, we are so excited to welcome him into the world of telling Lee Abbey's story!

Aimed especially at those leading Young Adult ministries, our new Advance weeks will provide a space to encounter God and learn together while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of our house and estate 🫶 and our first one is coming up October 5-9!

Each day will be a mix of working with one of our teams in the morning, free time in the afternoons and inspiring worship and teaching in the evenings. We would love to support this process by providing a reduced price of 180 pounds for the entire week all inclusive. ❤️

We are looking for a House-team Lead for Lee Abbey! This is a three year contract. Food, housing plus a weekly allowance will cover all your needs to live in the beautiful Devon countryside.

House team lead will participate and have an active role in all community life-times of prayer, worship and any creative means of living life together.

We would love for someone with housekeeping experience, but if you have a willingness to learn that is just as great! All backgrounds and walks of life and faith are welcome! We follow rules of life that are available on our website that the house team lead would not only live but live by example for the team!

This week David and Caroline sat down with Paul Friend, the director of South West Youth Ministries (SWYM)! SWYM has had a long standing partnership with Lee Abbey, bringing in multiple times a year, groups of passionate youth workers in training. The three of them talk about what community in a church setting really means, authenticity (aka allowing the weird) in churches, and how the newest generation of youth workers has inspired a revival of connection.

Shearing season is here for our sheep! With the warm weather coming up, these sheep are looking to cool things down with their coat off. We had a great time showing our guests the process and even having them join in! The beautiful wool will be sold soon and the happy sheep will resume to their pastures.
