Proud of our Debt Service here in Luton, and a special thanks to Ivan for sharing his story in order to help others find the help they need

Ivan was featured on The One Show in January sharing his story of working with our Luton Debt Advice team to become debt free.
For years, Ivan avoided opening letters, ignored phone calls, and lived in fear of debt collectors knocking on his door. Struggling also with mental health crises, he felt trapped—until The Salvation Army’s Debt Advice Service in Luton gave him the tools and support to rebuild his life.

Two years later, Ivan has been declared debt-free —a milestone he once thought impossible.

Ivan says: "I don’t have to hide anymore. I can buy my kids ice cream, pay my rent, and finally feel like I’m worth something. It feels like I pressed the reset button.”
