Dear friends,
As I announced at the end of the Divine Liturgy in Luton last Saturday, last week His Grace Bishop Matthew released me from my duties as priest in charge of the Parish in Luton. At the same time he appointed a new Rector for the Parish, Fr. Nectarios, who you know well already. He will look after you with great dedication and prayer, I am sure, and I feel blessed to hand over to him, having served the community now for over nine years. Please pray for Father Nectarios, together with Matushka Anna and their sons, Alexander and Simeon, as they begin this new stage in their life.
Fr Nectarios and I hope to serve together in Luton at our next liturgy on Saturday 19th September, at which he will be ‘introduced’ to you as your new Rector - though most of you know him very well already. Officially, he has already taken up his responsibilities, so you should now direct your questions and messages to him.
As I mentioned on Saturday, at least for the time being I remain as the Dean of your deanery area, so I’m always around if you need me. If I am your regular confessor, please feel free to continue to come to me, though Fr Nectarios has a blessing to receive confessions, and that is a regular part of his own ministry as the priest of the parish.
Thank you, all of you, for your love, support and friendship over the last years. May God bless you as a new stage in the life of the Parish of Saint Alban begins!
