Interfaith Visits to Places of Worship in Luton
Today, from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, The Right Reverend Richard Atkinson OBE, Bishop of Bedford, took part in a series of interfaith visits to places of worship across Luton.
The visits included Guru Nanak Gurdwara (Sikh Temple), the Turkish Community Mosque, Bury Park Jamia Masjid, and the Central Mosque.
Bishop Richard was accompanied by the High Sheriff of Bedfordshire, Deputy Lieutenants Alison and Debbie, Fr Emmanuel Nazir SSC, Parish Priest of the Church of the Holy Cross, Revd Naomi of the United Reformed Church, and Peter Adams.
The day was organised by J***y and Ryad from Grassroots Luton.
The purpose of these visits was to strengthen relationships between faith communities, promote mutual understanding and respect, encourage dialogue, and reaffirm our shared commitment to peace, community cohesion, and the common good. Such encounters provide valuable opportunities to learn from one another and to work together for the wellbeing of our town and its diverse communities.
