Last Thursday, on October 16th, we organised a Community Bike Ride with different refugee communities in Luton. We cycled to Harpenden and had a time together in partnership with The Bike Project . It was also a wonderful opportunity to build friendships as part of our well-being services for refugees and asylum seekers in the town.

Join us as we kick off the autumn term with a week of prayer and fasting during the week commencing 8th September and wrapping up on 12th September. As we move into an exciting term going through Freedom in Christ together as a church family, we want to be pursuing more of God in all aspects of our lives.

Monday - Thursday Prayer Meetings - 7:45-9pm:
•Monday - Zoom
•Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - Hope Church Building

Friday Fasting & Prayer - 7:45-10:30pm:
•We are asking the church to fast together on this day, asking God to move amongst us during this Autumn term
•Evening prayer meeting starts at 7:45pm, we will break fast together with a meal from 9:30pm

Pray for our young people and team at Newday 2025!

Pray for:

-For the young people to encounter God, have fun and be safe;

-For strong friendships to be formed for young people and leaders;

-That the youth leaders would work well together and be energised;

-For safety when travelling to Norfolk and back;

-For everyone to be safe and have good health throughout the week;

-That we have a great week and really meet with Jesus.

This week, in partnership with and Luton City of Sanctuary, we hosted over 85 members of the refugee and asylum seeker community for a special event to mark Refugee Week. We were able to share a meal together as well as hear testimonies from members of the community as we reflected together on the refugee experience. It was a great time together and a chance to celebrate the lives of those that make up this community!

This week, we are celebrating one year of Global Café, our weekly drop-in for the refugee and asylum seeker community in Luton. It has been a year of learning to work together, building community, and making friends.

We are so thankful for everyone who has made this possible, in particular all of our volunteers. We are also grateful for our partnership with and being able to work in our community. We would also like to thank and for their support of our work.

We look forward to another year of working together and standing with refugees.
