𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗝𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗦 - 𝗥𝗘-𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟

Please mark NEXT Sunday 13th and Sunday 20th September in your diaries.

As a parish, we are setting aside these two important Sundays to prayerfully consider the challenge before us as we seek to complete the work on our parish church and prepare to return.

BUILDING OUR SPIRITUAL HOUSE
Service of the Word

What is the Lord teaching us during this prolonged sojourn about what it means to be church? What sort of church is He calling us to be as we look towards the future?

𝗦𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟮𝟬 𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝟭𝟬.𝟬𝟬𝗔𝗠
BUILDING OUR PHYSICAL HOUSE
Holy Communion

We will consider in detail the financial and practical challenge of completing the work on our parish church. How can we meet this challenge? And what is the Lord asking of us?

𝘉𝘰𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘵 10.00𝘢𝘮. They will be longer than our usual services, particularly Sunday 20th, allowing us sufficient time to properly consider and engage with the challenges and opportunities before us.

We also want these Sundays to be opportunities for genuine connection and fellowship within our church family.

☕ Sunday 13th: Tea and coffee after the service
🥣 Sunday 20th: Soup lunch after the service

𝗔 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 𝗢𝗙 𝗙𝗢𝗖𝗨𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥
Between these two Sundays, we will also have a week of focused prayer for the Re-Imagining Shankill Project, with opportunities to pray individually and corporately each day, asking the Lord to pour out His blessing upon us.

More details will follow.

This is a crucial moment in the life of our parish. These two Sundays may well be among the most significant services we have held at Shankill for a generation.

This time we’re joined by Rikki Drennan and Iain “Dino” Uprichard for a double interview, with music from Andi Oakes.

Tonight we come together for the final evening of this year’s Down & Dromore Bible Week.

Dr Tim Robinson concludes our series in Acts 13:6–12 with: 𝘚𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘙𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥𝘸𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯

The call to surrender is not simply a call to greater commitment within the life of the Church. It is a call to follow Christ wherever He leads - in discipleship, in service and in proclaiming the gospel to the world.

Throughout this week we have been considering the example of the Church in Antioch: a Church surrendered in prayer and worship, to the Word and Spirit, in discipleship and in mission.

Our prayer is that God would raise up such a Church among us today.
