Ludlow Quaker Meeting

Ludlow Quaker Meeting Ludlow Quakers are a warm and welcoming group. Our worship stems from stillness. Our home is the Meeting House, a peaceful place near the town centre.

Here is a place children can be signposted to reality, within them selves and with relation to others in a community.

The Open University (OU) is offering a peace education course for the first time, thanks to a partnership between OU staff and Quakers in Britain.

Some friends from Ludlow Meeting would prefer that the pages here on Ludlow Quaker Meeting site only have posts which relate to what is happening at Ludlow Meeting. So to start the New Year I shall post articles, letters, readings and other Quaker information on my personal page, Barbara Mark. I have another site called Hatty Baggins but I do not use this any more. It was for my business ( where all my involvement in facebook started!!)
Please do join me on my personal site and share your thoughts and discussions with me there.

I hope friends will hold our government to follow the law and abide by the International Court of Justice
Barbara Mark

Today the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for crimes against humanity and war crimes.

At the same time, Israel continues to challenge the International Court of Justice (ICJ) orders of January, March and May 2024 that explicitly call on Israel to end all genocidal acts committed against the Palestinians in Gaza. The ICJ Court orders are binding and thus create international legal obligations for any party to whom the provisional measures are addressed. This again makes it clear that the U.S. — and all states providing military assistance to Israel — must end their complicity in these heinous crimes by imposing an arms embargo on Israel, demanding an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, and pushing for accountability for all war crimes and crimes against humanity that have been committed.

Creative Writing Group: Poetry Workshop with Peter Street
November 18 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join Peter Street for a poetry workshop. Peter has published multiple books and also writes as a war poet. He has overcome challenges and offers great insight.

This Guardian article describes Peter’s writing career. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2008/dec/17/peter-street-poetry

‘His life story is that of an itinerant autodidact, with shades of The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists and Thomas Hardy’s Jude. But Peter Street has defied decades of hardship and disability to become a war poet and BBC writer-in-residence’.

Activist Alphabet
November 1 @ 2:00 pm - November 30 2024 @ 3:30 pm

Activist Alphabet is an exhibition of 26 prints and poems created as a response to climate change. The aim of the Alphabet is to help people connect with their own joy in the natural world and personal memories of climate change. I think we are in a crisis of relationships with each other, with nature and the planet. We need to take care of our home, The Earth.
